My work is grounded in a deep belief that people can change, because I know from my own experience that change is possible, even when it feels out of reach.
As a teenager and into my early twenties, I spent a lot of time trying not to feel. I found all sorts of ways to escape, disconnect, and protect myself from things that felt too painful to face. Eventually, those ways of coping led me into a lot of pain of my own.
It was through finding my way through that pain, rather than continuing to run from it, that I began to experience something I hadn’t known was possible, real change. I discovered that beneath the patterns, defences and things we do to survive, there can be a way back to ourselves. That experience is a big part of what led me to this work, and why I care so deeply about walking alongside others as they find their own way through.
I work with adults and teenagers navigating some of life’s harder experiences, including trauma, addiction, depression, anxiety, panic, sex and relationship difficulties, anger, and more. My experience in both private practice and residential settings has given me a grounded understanding of the many different ways people can struggle, cope, protect themselves, and ultimately heal.
My approach draws on Gestalt Psychotherapy, Trauma-Informed Therapy, IFS, Mindfulness and Brainspotting. Together, we gently explore the patterns, beliefs and ways of being that may once have helped you survive, but that might now be keeping you stuck. The aim isn’t to fix or change who you are, but to help you understand yourself more deeply and create more space for choice, connection and freedom.
I know how difficult it can be to take that first step, especially when part of you may be wondering whether things can really be different.
If you’re tired of going around in circles and feel ready to start finding your way through, I’d be honoured to walk alongside you.
I can also make this more intimate and personal, more polished and professional, or more concise for a therapy website homepage while keeping the vulnerability.
